If you are interested in joining our program, please follow the workflow below.
1. Declare Intent to Join KVIKS Media
Come to C-117 to speak with KVIKS Media Head Advisor Luke Eclipse-Ujano. Inform him of your desire to join KVIKS Media. You will be asked to disclose your availability, prior experience in any skills, and intentions to participate in any other extra or co-curricular activity.
2. Questions for Potential Applicants

- What other clubs, sports, hobbies or activities are you already committed to outside of KVIKS Media? Including non-school related activities that are a time commitment.
- Why are you interested in joining KVIKS Media?
- What part of KVIKS Media interests you the most?
- Audio/Video, Broadcasting, Creative Graphic Design, Digital Art, Social Media Management, News Writing, News Bulletin, Video Production, Technology
- What do you hope to get out of the KVIKS Media program?
- Do you have discord?
- Will you regularly check for new announcements and reply in a quick manner?
- Do you understand that you are expected to communicate clearly and quickly?
Can you make yourself available for live broadcasting opportunities?
One of KVIKS Media's primary activities is live broadcasting. This requires students to be available during school, after school, weekday nights, weekends and holidays. Can you make yourself available for live broadcasting opportunities? Usually we do give advance notice of our broadcasting schedule.
Amazing! Thank you! Broadcasting has three major categories, which category are you interested in?
- Technical Ops (Director, Technical Directing, CG Operators, Audio Tech, Statistician, Instant Replay, Live Playback)
- Camera Ops
- Commentator (Play-by-Play, Color, Sideline Commentating)
Since broadcasting is not a daily activity, there are other areas within KVIKS Media that you are expected to participate in as well. These areas include the aforementioned Audio/Video, Broadcasting, Creative Graphic Design, Digital Art, Social Media Management, News Writing, News Bulletin, Video Production, Technology.
Are you interested in participating in other areas of KVIKS as well as broadcasting?
Congratulations! You are the ideal candidate for KVIKS Media membership. To begin the formal application process, please obtain a KVIKS Media membership and parent permission application from a club officer or advisor. Once you have it filled out, please submit it with 10 dollars for club dues.
If you plan on participating only at live broadcasts, you will be expected to be readily available for most of them. Your performance review will be based on a ratio of live broadcasts you attend, your reliability and competency.
To begin the formal application process, please obtain a KVIKS Media membership and parent permission application from a club officer or advisor. Once you have it filled out, please submit it with 10 dollars for club dues.
Are you available in person afterschool?
If you are unable to attend live broadcasts, can you at least participate afterschool in person?
Since you are not regularly involved in broadcasting, you will need to participate in a variety of other activities such as Video Production, Photography, Newswriting, Creative Graphic Design, Digital Art, 3D Printing, Vinyl Banner Making, Laser Engraving, Technology, etc.
To begin the formal application process, please obtain a KVIKS Media membership and parent permission application from a club officer or advisor. Once you have it filled out, please submit it with 10 dollars for club dues.
Thank you for your interest, however, due to your unavailability, you are unable to meet basic expectations for participation as a full member of KVIKS Media. We will not be pursuing your application at this time.
3. Fill Out KVIKS Media Application
If it has been determined above that you are eligible for applying to KVIKS Media, please do the following.
- Carefully read and sign the KVIKS Media Member Application. A parent/guardian must also fill out requested information and sign the application. The application serves as a formal permission slip to participate in KVIKS Media.
- Complete KVIKS Media Contact Information Survey via Google Form to provide your personal contact details.
- Turn in your signed application to Head Advisor Luke Eclipse-Ujano with $10 cash for club dues.
Members are considered PERMANENT until they graduate or resign. We understand that interests and activities change throughout the years, and we are willing to work with you if you are willing to work with us! If your schedule becomes jam packed with other activities, there is always something you can do in KVIKS, so there is no need to quit. KVIKS Media is a fun organization that does so many things and every person who joins is considered valuable and part of the KVIKS Media community.
4. Probation Period
Brand new members are assigned a probationary period before becoming accepted as full members.
The probation period is one month.
- Join the Google Classroom
- Fill Out ALL MEMBERS Google Forms and Assignments
- There is a Google Form to help select your role and group.
- Connect with the group leader or department head of the role you are interested in.
- Join the KVIKS Media Discord
- Get Set Up on WhenIWork
- Serve as crew for two live broadcasts
- Regardless of your availability, demonstrate your willingness to join our program by arranging your schedule to participate in two live broadcast events.
- If you absolutely cannot participate at live broadcasts, then connect with a group leader in an area that you are interested in. They will modify the terms of your probation to determine reliability and competency in that specific area.
- Attend a general meeting on the first Thursday of the month.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and good teamwork with other club members.
- Display a willingness to learn and improve your skills.
- Adhere to the code of conduct and rules.
- Respond to all texts and emails.
At the end of your probationary period, you will be evaluated by your group leaders and club officers. They will then determine whether or not to grant full membership. If granted full membership, you will be issued an official uniform and press pass. If it is determined that you do not meet our expectations for full membership, you will be granted an additional month to make some changes or improvements and then will be evaluated again. If after the second probationary month it is still determined by committee that you do not meet expectations, you will be informed in writing and dismissed from KVIKS Media.
5. Ongoing Membership
All members of KVIKS Media will be expected to adhere to the club's code of conduct and participate in activities on a regular basis. Members who fail to meet these expectations may have their membership revoked.
